Online A Reflection

Technology is important because over the past years, it's been very easy to transmit and share information due to,  what I think is one of man's most important inventions, the internet. Technology has become easier to abuse over the last 5 years. People have found ways to upload files containing either music, movies, or other media content. Another problem are cyber bullies.They bully people online because they feel bad about themselves. In the next 5 years, I think that at least 7 more new iPods will come out, and most TV will be in 3D.

For school work, I use Google, Wikipedia, and other useful sites that will help me find my information. For personal use, I use my PS3, my laptop, my desktop, and my phone.

I didn't really like the movie. It had bad acting and I just didn't like it. the stuff that the kids said in that movie aren't things that real people would say in real life. The information they were trying to get across was good, but it was presented in a way that could have been improved.

Avatars

The first site, Voki, used an avatar that you actually had to make, and when you talked, the character talked to. The second site, Blabberize, you choose a picture and when you talk, the mouth on the picture moves.
I think that Blabberize was the easier one of the two, because all you have to do is find a picture, you don't have to create your own, which is why I like that one more. Plus, Voki is more childish. I probably wouldn't use either again, but if I had to, I would use Blabberize.

Online Safety Wrap-Up

To prevent ID Theft or cyber bullying, you should never post personal information, such as your DOB, address, e-mail address, phone number, school, mother's maiden name, or anything else related to that. Never engage in a chat room with someone you do not know, and if they ask to meet you, decline, and leave the chat room. If you use an online networking site, only add people that you know. Never share pornographic content that has anything to do with a person under the age of 18. If someone ever asks you for your bank account number or any personal information with someone that you do not know.

Social networking is an online site where you can create your own user interface and interact and communicate with others.A digital footprint is the impression that you leave on others from your social network. Social networking affects digital footprints by changing the way people view you.

Copyright

Copyright is the protection on certain things on the internet or any kind of media. Copyright can be placed on books, movies, music, pretty much anything. There have been countless amounts of lawsuits filed on people who try to copy and steal someone else's music. There are multiple sites on the internet where you can get free musics and movies (The Pirate Bay, Megaupload, Limewire, Frostwire, BTJunkie). Recently, Megaupload has been shut down by SOPA (a bill that is trying to majorly censor the internet). It is illegal to share music using Peer-to-peer methods. It is also illegal to publicly display movies or music with anyone (large amounts of people.

The Pirate Bay Copyright Issues

The Pirate Bay is the number 1 bit-torrent site on the internet. It supplies users with free games, music, movies, T.V shows, books, etc. Basically, anything is obtainable through The Pirate Bay. Of course, this arouses some official's attention.
-The case involved the raiding of The Pirate Bay's main HQ, and four trials. Although, the "attacks", as TPB calls them, were unsuccessful, and the site still operates to this day.

Canada Presentation

I thought my presentation went pretty well. I used comedy to capture people’s attention, but at the same time, had good facts. I took my project seriously, even though I made my presentation funny. The thing I could’ve done differently was to maybe make my brochure a little more decorative.

2011 Review
